How to Introduce Yourself in Chinese




Self-introduction is the very first thing that you are going to know when you start to learn a new language. Introducing yourself in Chinese needs only few sentence patterns. 



Self-introduction is a critical mean to help you know yourself and express it to others. A self-introduction can directly affect the first impression of you.

Do you know how to make your self-introduction in Chinese? It’s the most commonly used pattern when you conduct a conversation in Chinese, and it’ll be as easy as pie if you learnt the pattern of self-introduction.

Step 1
Greetings

nǐ hǎo
你好!
Hello.
dà jiā hǎo
大家好!
    Hello everyone.
zǎo shàng hǎo
早上好!
Good morning.
xià wǔ hǎo
下午好!
Good afternoon.
wǎn shàng hǎo
晚上好!
Good evening.

Step 2
Name and Nationality

wǒ jiào
我叫…
I’m…
wǒ lái zì
我来自…
I’m from….
wǒ shì…rén
我是…人
I’m … people. 

Examples:
wǒ jiào wáng xuě, wǒ lái zì zhōng guó
我叫王雪,我来自中国。
I am WangXue, I'm from China.

wǒ jiào hán méi méi, wǒ shì zhōng guó rén
我叫韩梅梅,我中国人。
I am HanMeimei, I'm Chinese people.

Example:
wǒ zài hàn qiáo hàn yǔ xué xiào gōng zuò, wǒ de gōng zuò shì jiāo xué shēng shuō hàn yǔ
我在汉桥汉语学校工作,我的工作是教学生说汉语。
I work for Hanbridge Mandarin and my job is to teach Mandarin.

Hobby
