How to Rent An Apartment in China

Whether you come to China for study or travel on official business, you probably will not leave in short time. Therefore, it’s better to learn how to rent an apartment in China unless you can afford high hotel costs. Maybe you could say that I can book it on the Internet, but to be honest, Those registration procedures are enough to give you a headache.

Firstly, Let’s get to know some new vocabularies:

Real estate - 房产 fáng chǎn	Agency - 中介 zhōng jiè
Apartment - 公寓 gōng yù	Rental - 租金 zū jīn
Decoration - 装修 zhuāng xiū	Square meter - 平方米 píng fāng mǐ
Luxury - 豪华 háo huá	Ordinary - 普通 pǔ tōng
Bedroom - 室 shì	Living - 厅tīng
Be close to - 靠近 kào jìn	Nearby - 附近 fù jìn

Give a call to Real estate agency.

A:nǐ hǎo ！zhè lǐ shì shēn zhèn fáng chǎn zhōng jiè。
　你好！这里是深圳房产中介。
　(Hello, this is Shenzhen Real Estate Agency)
B:nǐ hǎo ！wǒ xiǎng zū yī tào fáng zǐ。
　你好！我想租一套房子。
　(Hello, I would like to rent an apartment.)
　wǒ zài shēn zhèn nán shān qū gōng zuò,zhè fù jìn yǒu méi yǒu hé shì de fáng zǐ?
　我在深圳南山区工作，这附近有没有合适的房子？
　(I work in Shenzhen Nanshan district, is there a suitable house here? )
A:nín xiǎng zū duō shǎo píng fāng mǐ de ?
　您想租多少平方米的？
　(How many square meters would you like to rent?)
　pǔ tōng zhuāng xiū hái shì háo huá zhuāng xiū?
　普通装修还是豪华装修？
　(General decoration or luxury decoration?)
B:wǒ zài hǎi shàng shì jiè gōng zuò。
　我在海上世界工作。
　(I work in the Sea World.)
　80píng fāng mǐ de, pǔ tōng zhuāng xiū jiù kě yǐ le.
　80平方米的，普通装修就可以了。
　(80 square meters of ordinary decoration on it.)
A:hǎo de,zài hǎi shàng shì jiè nà lǐ yǒu yī tào fáng zǐ。
　好的，在海上世界那里有一套房子。
　(Well, there is a house at the Sea World.)
　háo huá zhuāng xiū,yī shì yī tīng,80píng。
　豪华装修，一室一厅，80平。
　(Luxurious decoration, one bedroom and one living room, 80 square meters.)
　fù jìn yǒu dì tiě zhàn,qì chē zhàn,lí huǒ chē zhàn yě bú yuǎn,jiāo tōng hěn fāng biàn。
　附近有地铁站、汽车站，离火车站也不远，交通很方便。
　(near the subway station, bus station and not far from the railway station, the traffic is very convenient. )
　zū jīn sì qiān wǔ。
租金四千五。
　(The rental is 4,500 RMB.)
B:yǒu méi yǒu biàn yí yī diǎn ér de?
　有没有便宜一点儿的？
　(Is there any cheaper one?)
A：zài shēn zhèn dà xué fù jìn yǒu yī tào 70píng de。
　在深圳大学附近有一套70平的。
　(There is an flat of 70 square meters near the Shenzhen University.)
　bú guò shì pǔ tōng zhuāng xiū。
　不过是普通装修。
　(But it was commonly decorated.)
　fù jìn yǒu yín háng,fàn diàn hé tú shū guǎn.zū jīn 3500。
　附近有银行，饭店和图书馆。租金3500.
　(There are banks, restaurants and libraries nearby. And the rental is 3,500 RMB.)
B:hǎo de,wǒ shí me shí hòu kě yǐ kàn yī xià ér fáng zǐ?
　好的，我什么时候可以看一下儿房子？
　(OK. When can I have a look at the house?)
　zhè gè zhōu mò kě yǐ ma?
　这个周末可以吗？
　(Will this weekend be available?)
A:kě yǐ de。
　可以的。
　(It’s alright.)
　bú guò zhè gè fáng zǐ kàn de rén hěn duō,nín zuì hǎo kuài yī diǎn ér.
　不过这个房子看的人很多，您最好快一点儿。
　(But the apartment is very popular, please come as soon as possible.)
　B:hǎo de.xiè xiè !
