How to Talk About Your Hobbies and Interests in Chinese

1. First question: What’s your hobby?

Try to express what you like and dislike, it’s easy.
Nǐ xǐhuān zuò shénme？
- 你喜欢做什么？
(What do you like to do?)
Nǐ yǒu shénme àihào？
- 你有什么爱好？
(What hobbies do you have?)
Then, we can use this sentence structure to answer the question:
eg: Wǒ xǐhuān chànggē。
- 我喜欢唱歌。
(I like singing.)

cook：烹饪pēngrèn	surf the net：上网shàngwǎng

Then, you can use the following questions or chic expressions to go on further conversations:
Wa! Zhēnde ma?
- 哇！真的吗？
(Wow, really?)
Nǐ tài lìhài le!
- 你太厉害了！
(You are amazing!)
Wǒ yě xǐhuan (...)！
- 我也喜欢 (...) ！
(I also like it !)
You can also put the activities in the bracket, such as ‘Wǒ yě xǐhuan pǎobù! 我也喜欢跑步!’

(Where do you go to play football/jogging?)
Nǐ shénme shíhou qù túbù?

(Can we go together?)
Wǒ kěyǐ hé nǐmen yīqǐ qù ma?
- 我可以和你们一起去吗？
(Can I go with you together?)

Nǐhǎo Xiǎo Wáng! Hěn gāoxìng rènshí nǐ!
A：你好小王！很高兴认识你！
Nǐhǎo Jiékè!Wǒ yě hěn gāoxìng rènshi nǐ!
B：你好杰克！我也很高兴认识你！
Xiǎo Wáng, nǐ yǒu shénme àihào?
A：小王，你有什么爱好？
Wǒ xǐhuan túbù.
B：我喜欢徒步。
Wa!Zhēnde ma?Wǒ yě xǐhuan túbù
A：哇！真的吗？我也喜欢徒步！
Duì a! Wǒ xǐhuan qù Xiānggǎng túbù, nǐ ne?
